The doors of this historic Plymouth landmark first opened its doors circa 1870, interestingly its believed to have been a public house called The Yarmouth Inn back then, and now, set to be a wonderful pub once more.
How we all looked forward to a trip to a beautiful British pub. Pubs have had their day of negative media attention, times are finally changing and pubs which are opening now are establishments who are ready to work hard, to go back to basics, to give people back, a little bit of what was great about Britain, an archetypal pub, good genuine & a ‘real’ friendly service.
1620 Pub & eatery (formerly The Notte Inn) has undergone a huge programme of refurbishment over the last 7 months, it was felt the building deserved a complete new identity & new lease of life, including the changing of the name to 1620. This is also of course the date of which the Pilgrims set sail 400 years ago from the Mayflower Steps (within walking distance of our doors) and with the upcoming celebrations of 2020 we felt this apt renaming, somewhat poetic. We can’t wait to open our doors & welcome you, this project having been a dream and passion of the proprietors for over 15 years.
We are excited about our food offerings. Our dishes are made in our house kitchen by our incredibly talented and passionate team.
1620 is a contemporary pub and eatery situated on Plymouth’s historic Barbican, serving a wide range of drinks for any occasion and freshly made food.
